How to Rip audio CD with windows media player

Generally we copy paste music like mp3, wma songs from CD/DVD and it works perfectly with all music players. But if we copy paste in the same way songs from a Audio CD, it will not work. Because Audio CD’s are protected and data written in such a way that you can’t use it by copy paste only.

So for copy or Ripping (Process to copying songs from Audio CD) audio from an Audio CD you need to follow some steps on Windows PC. You can do it with Windows Media Player


Steps to Ripping Audio CD




Insert your Audio CD in the CD/DVD Drive of your PC
It will auto play with Windows Media Player within few seconds.
Now you need to switch to Library mode from Now playing mode by Click back sign on the top right corner in player.

Here you will find Rip CD Button on Main Nav. Menu, also you can select which songs you want to Rip from the list


In Windows Media Player click Tools. If you're not able to see the Tools menu try pressing the Alt key.
From Tools click Options.
In the Options window click the Rip Music tab.
Finally, in the Rip Music tab click the drop down menu under Format and select MP3 and then we suggest increasing the Audio quality to either the highest setting or second to highest setting.
Once completed click Ok.

Select songs and click on Rip CD button. (By default Window Media Player rip audio files in WMA format with 128 kbps audio quality. you can change it as per your requirements)
After finishing Ripping process you can find you ripped music files in Libraries in My Computer. WMP automatically create a new folder every time you Rip music from a New CD.


Now you can burn CD or sync these music files with your portable device or phones. It is advisable, don’t create illegal copies of any copyrighted material.
Note: We perform above method of Ripping music from Audio CD on Windows 7 platform. options may differ on any other Windows Platform but it will be almost similar.
